Privacy notice
How Half Past Kallang handles personal data under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore.
1. Who is responsible
This website, Half Past Kallang (lifemovenow.pro), is operated by Shalini as an individual publisher of a personal blog. I am the data controller for personal data collected through this site. You may contact me using the details on the contact page or by email at [email protected]. Postal address: Blk 8B Upper Boon Keng Road, #09-14, Singapore 382008.
2. Scope of this notice
This notice applies to visitors who browse Half Past Kallang, load the optional Google Maps embed on the contact page, manage cookie preferences, or contact me by email, telephone, or the contact form. It does not apply to third-party websites linked from here (if any are added in future), nor to services operated entirely by third parties such as Google Maps when you choose to load the map. Those services have their own privacy policies.
This site is intended for general readership. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under thirteen without appropriate consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has contacted me with personal data, please write and I will delete it promptly.
3. What personal data I collect
I collect only what is necessary for the purposes described below. Categories include:
- Technical data — internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and approximate timestamps. This data may appear in server logs maintained by my hosting provider.
- Cookie and consent data — your cookie preference choices (essential, functional/maps), stored locally in your browser and in a first-party cookie named hpk_consent. This may include a timestamp of when you saved your choice.
- Communication data — if you email or call me, I receive whatever you choose to send: your email address, telephone number, message content, and any attachments.
- Map interaction data — if you load the Google Maps embed on the contact page, Google may collect additional data according to Google’s policies. I do not receive a separate copy of that data beyond what appears in aggregated hosting logs.
I do not operate user accounts, newsletters, checkout flows, or comment forms on this site. The contact form on the contact page collects only what you choose to send — name, email, and message — and delivers it to my inbox at [email protected]. I do not collect NRIC numbers, payment card details, or precise geolocation from your device beyond what hosting logs and Google may infer when you load the map on the contact page.
4. Purposes and legal bases
Under the PDPA, organisations must collect, use, or disclose personal data only with consent or under an recognised exception. My purposes are:
- Operating and securing the site — server logs help diagnose errors, detect abuse, and maintain availability. This is necessary for legitimate interests in running a small personal website securely.
- Remembering cookie choices — storing your consent respects your preference about functional cookies and map loading. Consent is obtained through the cookie banner and the manage cookies control.
- Responding to messages — if you contact me, I use your details to read and reply. This is based on your voluntary provision of data and my legitimate interest in correspondence about factual corrections or privacy requests.
- Legal compliance — I may retain or disclose data where required by applicable Singapore law, court order, or lawful request by a public authority.
I do not use personal data for direct marketing, profiling, automated decision-making, or sale to data brokers. I do not run analytics trackers on this site.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Essential storage includes the consent cookie and, where supported, local storage entry cookie_consent_v1 mirroring the same preference JSON. Functional storage applies only if you accept functional cookies or load a map, which sets functional consent to true. Details appear on the cookies page.
You may withdraw consent by reopening the cookie panel via the manage cookies button on the cookies page or by clearing site data in your browser. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
6. Disclosure to third parties
I do not sell personal data. I may share limited technical data with:
- Hosting provider — servers that store site files and access logs, under contract and confidentiality obligations.
- Google — if you load the Google Maps embed on the contact page, your browser connects directly to Google services. See Google’s privacy policy for how they process data.
- Email and telephone providers — infrastructure that delivers messages you send to me or that I send in reply.
I may disclose data if required to comply with law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the site. I will limit disclosure to what is necessary.
7. International transfers
Hosting and email routing may involve servers located outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred overseas, I rely on providers that maintain appropriate protections consistent with PDPA requirements, including contractual clauses where applicable. If you contact me by email, your message may pass through servers in multiple jurisdictions beyond my direct control.
8. Retention
Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, typically not longer than ninety days unless a specific incident requires longer retention. Cookie consent records persist for up to one hundred eighty days in the cookie max-age setting, unless you clear them sooner. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to answer your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterward in case of follow-up questions — usually not longer than twenty-four months unless a legal matter requires longer storage. You may ask me to delete earlier where no overriding reason exists.
9. Your rights under the PDPA
Subject to exceptions in the PDPA, you have the right to:
- ask whether I hold personal data about you;
- request access to that data and information about how it has been used or disclosed within a year before the request;
- request correction of inaccurate data; and
- withdraw consent for purposes where consent is the basis of processing, such as functional cookies.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with the subject line “PDPA request” and enough detail for me to identify relevant records. I may need to verify your identity before responding. I will respond within thirty days where possible, or inform you if an extension is required under the PDPA.
If you remain unsatisfied after contacting me, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore. I encourage you to contact me first so I can address your concern directly.
10. Security
I implement reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a small personal site: HTTPS where configured by hosting, limited access to administrative interfaces, and minimal collection of data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; I cannot guarantee absolute security but I will notify affected individuals and authorities where required if a breach likely to cause significant harm occurs.
11. Changes to this notice
I may update this notice when practices change or when law requires. The “last updated” date at the top will change accordingly. Material changes will be described on this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acknowledgement of the updated notice where permitted by law.
Disclaimer. This privacy notice is provided for transparency about a personal blog and is not legal advice. While it reflects my good-faith understanding of the PDPA as at January 2026, it should not be relied upon by other organisations as a template for their own compliance programmes. Half Past Kallang is not a company and does not offer commercial services through this site. Nothing in this notice creates a contractual relationship beyond what applicable law requires. I make no warranty that descriptions of third-party services (including Google Maps) are complete or current; refer to those providers for authoritative terms. To the extent permitted by law, I exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on this notice, without limiting any liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law.
